Why don't you design a font for yourself?

We are using the fonts of other designers/ artists. Uhm... We're designers, right? why don't we use the fonts which are created by us? It's very interesting. If you are a good drawer, you can design a nice font easily.

However, speaking personally, I & some people aren't good at drawing something. Thus, it's hard to create a quite nice font. But there are some websites or applications provide the tools to create a font. They have tools, you have ideas. So, you can create a font for yourself.

I found some websites that provide font-buiding tools or give you advice or guide the way to buid a font.

* Font struct: a free font-building tool --> http://fontstruct.fontshop.com/. Go there & express your creation in designing fonts.

* How to create a font ... take a look at this website http://howto.wired.com/wiki/Create_Your_Own_Font. It provides the steps of buiding the fonts.

* Some font-buiding softwares (commercial softwares)

Practising with the font I chose for A2C...

I chose Magneto font for next assignment. I created a flash with this font & the content in this flash is just my opinion: "I'm not the best but I'm an unique".

In this flash, I also applied 'Camera techniques'. I hope that my skill in this time is a little bit better than previous times.

Anyway, I found background music on http://www.freeplaymusic.com/ & sound effect on http://www.flashkit.com/. Furthermore, the female voice in the flash which is also 'created' with the help of http://www.freeplaymusic.com/. You can find this feature easily on freeplay music website.

Typography exercise....

This week, I have learned more about 'Typography'. It's very interesting with me.

Creating 'Typography' in Flash doesn't only mean that characters are moved arround the stage but also can combine with 'camera techniques'. That helps 'Typography' or any work which are created by Flash more 'visual', ''attractive' and 'creative'.

This Flash I created based on my lecturer's materials with 'Typography' style. I know that I didn't apply 'camera techniques' very well for this Flash because the audio of this Flash is quite short but the man's voice is too fast, so I don't have enough 'time' to use 'camera techniques' .

I hope I will be better for next Flash.

1st business card for ... my own company in the future ^.^

I have used the name 'Piti' in the magazine layout in assignment 1. I really love this name (^.^) because it's very meaningful with me.

Last night, suddenly, I thought about if I have my own company. uhm...what will it look like? how will it work? ... I thought too much ... but one thing can be sure that if it is possible, my company's name must be 'Piti'

A sudden idea came to me. Why don't I create something for my future company?

Business card will be the first thing I can do for my future company...

practice with 'Motion guide' ....

I really like some things are 'movable' , 'clear' and 'concrete'. On the other hand, I can't work well at something that are so 'abstract'. So, I like Flash rather than Photoshop or Illustrator.

Last week, Photomontage assignment made me stress and crazy, so I don't have too much time for this entry.

Thus, this is a small practice which I did quickly with 'motion guide' in Flash ...

Actually, I want to represent the definition of 'Graphic design' in flash with Typography style. However, in the short time, I can't do many things, so I just created a short Flash file with 'Graphic design' first. I will continue my work this week.

Assignment 1 _ Layout.

This work that I did for assignment 1. Designer whom I chose is Bradbury Thompson. He is one of the most famous American designers in the 20th century. Brardbury was well-known as typograhy and magazines design.

The reason why I chose him for my assignment because I like somethings are basic and simple. I like basic shapes and primary colors in my design. Bradbury Thompson was a designer always use primary colors (especially CMYK) and simplified fonts (such as Times New Roman and Arial fonts).

I designed magazine layout based on his style. I just use primary colors, simplified fonts (Arial & Times New Roman)
